# Dajent Cookie Notice **Effective date:** October 9, 2026 **Version:** 1.8 This notice explains how Dajent (DaJent LLC) uses cookies and similar technologies. It works together with our [Privacy Policy](https://www.dajent.co/privacy). --- ## Banner copy ### Short banner (all visitors) > **Cookies.** We use essential cookies to run Dajent, and — with your permission where required — analytics and affiliate tools (PostHog and PromoteKit) to understand and improve how the app works and to credit the partners who refer you. This choice controls those tools. We do not record your session on this site. Meta advertising measurement (the Meta Pixel, and reports from our servers) runs for everyone and isn't covered by this choice. To stop it, use "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" or your browser's Global Privacy Control. > > [Accept] [Reject non-essential] · [Learn more](https://www.dajent.co/cookies) ### EU/UK visitors **On our website (dajent.co).** For visitors in the EU/UK (and other regions that require it), non-essential cookies (analytics and affiliate tracking) are **off until you accept**. "Reject non-essential" keeps only the cookies needed to run the Service. **In the Dajent app, during our closed beta.** Analytics are **on by default** for beta participants in every region, including the EU/UK, so that we can see how the product is actually used while we build it. We tell beta participants this directly. You can turn them off at any time — from the banner shown on first use, or from "Cookie settings" — and we will stop. This is a temporary beta arrangement; when Dajent opens to the public, the app will ask for consent first in the EU/UK just as this website does. **Advertising measurement is not part of either arrangement.** The Meta Pixel and our server reports to Meta run in every region, including the EU/UK, on the website and in the app, whatever you choose in the banner. See "Advertising measurement" below for what they do and how to stop them. You can change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. To stop Meta advertising measurement, use "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", also in the footer. ## What we use **Essential (always on).** Needed to run the Service — for example keeping you signed in through our authentication provider (Supabase) and basic security, and remembering your choices: your cookie choice, and a "Do Not Sell or Share" opt-out (the `dajent_meta_optout` cookie on dajent.co, plus a copy in your browser's local storage). The Service won't work properly without these. **Analytics (consent where required).** **PostHog** helps us understand which features are used so we can improve Dajent. It sets cookies/identifiers to measure usage. PostHog also receives our **crash and error reports** — the error message, the stack trace and the app version when something fails, including in the desktop app's background work — which can incidentally include file or folder names from your device. The same choice covers both: turning analytics off turns error reporting off. **No session recording.** **We do not record or replay your screen or your session** — not on our website and not in the Dajent app. Microsoft Clarity, which previously did this, has been removed, and PostHog's session-replay feature is not enabled; on our website it is switched off in the site's own code rather than merely left unconfigured. If we ever introduce session recording again, we will update this notice and ask again wherever consent is required. **Heatmaps (consent where required — website only).** On our website at dajent.co, **PostHog** builds heatmaps of where visitors click and how far down a page they scroll. This is aggregate position data — coordinates and counts — and not a recording: it does not capture the contents of your screen or what you type. **Affiliate tracking (consent where required).** When you arrive through a partner's link (a link containing `via=`, `ref=`, `aff=` or `promocode=`), **PromoteKit**, the service that runs our affiliate program, records the visit and sets a `promotekit_referral` cookie on dajent.co so that, if you later subscribe or buy, we can pay that partner a commission. The cookie holds a referral identifier, not your name or email; it lasts for the duration of the partner program's referral window. When you buy, the identifier is attached to your payment with our payment processor (Stripe), and PromoteKit reads it from there to credit the partner. If you are signed in to the Dajent app, we also keep the identifier on your account for up to 60 days so that a purchase made from the desktop app is credited too. Affiliate tracking follows the same choice as analytics: it is off until you accept in the EU/UK and other regions that require prior consent on our website, it is off everywhere if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, and "Reject non-essential" turns it off — which also deletes the identifier stored on your account. **Advertising measurement (runs for everyone; not covered by the cookie choice).** We measure our Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads in these ways. The first two run for every visitor and account in every region; the third runs unless you have turned analytics off (in the Dajent app analytics are on by default during our closed beta, in every region; on our website they follow the cookie banner, which in the EU/UK means off until you accept): - **The Meta Pixel** runs on our website at dajent.co and in the Dajent web app (beta.dajent.co). It tells us which of our ads brought people to the site or app and which pages/screens they reached, and lets us show ads to people who have visited. Meta receives your IP address, the page you are on, and pixel/cookie identifiers (the `_fbp` and `_fbc` cookies). The desktop app never loads the pixel. - **Reports from our servers** (Meta's Conversions API) tell Meta when an account is created — from the website, the web app or the desktop app — and when an account makes its first paid subscription payment, with the amount and currency. These reports carry your email address and account identifier in hashed form, the ad click identifiers we received (such as `fbclid`, `_fbc` and `_fbp`), and your browser's user agent. - **Through our analytics provider.** Unless you have turned analytics (PostHog) off, PostHog also forwards two events to Meta on our behalf: your sign-up, and the start of a free trial (with its currency, no amount). These carry your email address and an identifier derived from it, both in hashed form, your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the ad click identifiers (`_fbc`, `_fbp`). Meta matches the sign-up with our own server report of it and counts it once. Turning analytics off ("Reject non-essential", or "Cookie settings" later) stops this route; GPC and "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" stop it too. Meta may use this data to build advertising audiences — which counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. The cookie banner's choice does not affect it: "Reject non-essential" leaves it running. To stop all of it, use **"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"** in the footer of the website or the app, or send Global Privacy Control from your browser. Either one stops the pixel and the analytics route in that browser. Used in the Dajent app while you are signed in, the link also opts your account out, which stops our server reports and follows you to your other browsers and the desktop app; on our website, which has no sign-in, it applies to that browser only. An opt-out made after you sign up cannot recall the report of your account's creation that was already sent. ## Your choices - **In the app/site:** use the cookie banner or "Cookie settings" in the footer to accept or reject analytics and affiliate cookies, or change your choice later. - **"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information":** in the footer of the website and the app. It stops Meta advertising measurement in that browser — the pixel and the analytics route — and, when you use it in the app while signed in, our server reports for your account. On our website it applies to that browser only; signed in to the app, you set it for your account, and undo it, from the same link there. - **Global Privacy Control (GPC):** we honor GPC signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing.
