# Dajent Cookie Notice **Effective date:** September 13, 2026 **Version:** 1.6 This notice explains how Dajent (DaJent LLC) uses cookies and similar technologies. It works together with our [Privacy Policy](https://www.dajent.co/privacy). --- ## Banner copy ### Short banner (all visitors) > **Cookies.** We use essential cookies to run Dajent, and — with your permission where required — analytics and advertising measurement tools (PostHog and the Meta Pixel) to understand and improve how the app works and to measure our ads. We do not record your session on this site. > > [Accept] [Reject non-essential] [Manage settings] · [Learn more](https://www.dajent.co/cookies) ### EU/UK visitors **On our website (dajent.co).** For visitors in the EU/UK (and other regions that require it), non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising measurement) are **off until you accept**. "Reject non-essential" keeps only the cookies needed to run the Service. **In the Dajent app, during our closed beta.** Analytics are **on by default** for beta participants in every region, including the EU/UK, so that we can see how the product is actually used while we build it. We tell beta participants this directly. You can turn them off at any time — from the banner shown on first use, or from "Cookie settings" — and we will stop. This is a temporary beta arrangement; when Dajent opens to the public, the app will ask for consent first in the EU/UK just as this website does. This on-by-default arrangement covers analytics only — the Meta Pixel in the app follows the same rule as on this website: on by default outside the EU/UK and other regions that require prior consent, and off until you accept inside them; see "Advertising measurement" below. You can change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. ## What we use **Essential (always on).** Needed to run the Service — for example keeping you signed in through our authentication provider (Supabase) and basic security. The Service won't work properly without these. **Analytics (consent where required).** **PostHog** helps us understand which features are used so we can improve Dajent. It sets cookies/identifiers to measure usage. PostHog also receives our **crash and error reports** — the error message, the stack trace and the app version when something fails, including in the desktop app's background work — which can incidentally include file or folder names from your device. The same choice covers both: turning analytics off turns error reporting off. **No session recording.** **We do not record or replay your screen or your session** — not on our website and not in the Dajent app. Microsoft Clarity, which previously did this, has been removed, and PostHog's session-replay feature is not enabled; on our website it is switched off in the site's own code rather than merely left unconfigured. If we ever introduce session recording again, we will update this notice and ask again wherever consent is required. **Heatmaps (consent where required — website only).** On our website at dajent.co, **PostHog** builds heatmaps of where visitors click and how far down a page they scroll. This is aggregate position data — coordinates and counts — and not a recording: it does not capture the contents of your screen or what you type. **Advertising measurement (consent required in the EU/UK and other regions that require it).** The **Meta Pixel** runs on our website at dajent.co and in the Dajent app (beta.dajent.co) — the same rule applies on both. It tells us which of our Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads brought people to the site or app and which pages/screens they reached, and lets us show ads to people who have visited. Meta receives your IP address, the page you are on, and pixel/cookie identifiers, and may use them to build advertising audiences — which counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. The Meta Pixel is **off until you accept** in the EU/UK and other regions that require prior consent; elsewhere it runs by default, and you can turn it off at any time from the banner or "Cookie settings."
